We Want to Inspire You.
The Workshop concept began in the minds of Adam and Alexandra Simkins long before there was a physical space.
In 2011, while living in Norwich England, they would routinely frequent the eclectic shops, cafes, and bars of a more than thousand year old city. Modern businesses, housed in buildings literally hundreds of years old, had an energy unlike anything they had experienced before. They developed an eye for what makes an old, quite possibly ancient, space beautiful & functional.
Fast forward to 2017. Adam quit his corporate job and co-founded a startup https://secur.space/. He was working from home and contemplated a co-work membership. None of the co-work places had the atmosphere he wanted.
Alex was at home, with two little boys who were finally starting to sleep. Her capacity to think creatively grew, and she decided to build a place both she and Adam could work and create from.
They leased a decrepit floor in an old tobacco factory and rehabbed it. The goal: a creative space for the independent thinkers, builders, and creators of STL.
Now, Adam runs Ida Technologies https://ida-technologies.com/ and Alex keeps The Workshop filled with good people!
